Gallery Four

When working on something distinctive, something I find satisfying—even images shaped by spontaneity and accident —I  treasure the sense of becoming momentarily weightless and lightheaded. When meeting Emily Dickinson for the first time, Thomas Wentworth Higginson records her sharing, “If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.” Artistic flow, the creative moment, perhaps that’s what ultimately drives artists. Perhaps it drives all of us. The human brain is wonderfully creative.
